Hula Performances

The Halau (school) is available for show
performances, both private and public,
in the Verde Valley and Flagstaff.  Our
dance presentations reflect the
integration of hula, language, and the
spiritualness of Hawai'i.  Many
audiences walk away with a greater
understanding of Hawaiian culture.
"Hula is the art of Hawaiian

choose a hula school and before
studying hula.
Students beam as they tell
the story of "Kipukai"
composed by Mary Kawena
Pukui.  (Arizona Aloha
Festival 2008).
Arizona Aloha Festival 2008,
Phoenix-- "'Ike i ke one kani a'o
Nohili".  All dancers made their own
bamboo stamp ('ohe kapala kapa) with
their own design, and stamped the
fabric for their pa'u (skirt), just as
women would have done in Ancient
Hawaii.

The branches grow because of
the trunk.

not be here.)
